Gulf Egypt announces an EGP 20bn resort scheme in Sharm
About 354,000 sq m and some 750 metres of beachfront near the airport and the conference district: a hotel, two branded residential communities and a beach club.

Gulf Egypt for Hotels and Tourism has announced plans for a mixed-use tourism and hospitality development in Sharm El Sheikh with investment of more than EGP 20 billion. Daily News Egypt reported this on 12 July 2026.
According to the paper the site covers about 354,458 sq m and includes some 750 metres of beachfront, near Sharm El Sheikh International Airport and the city's conference and events district. The scheme is announced as a luxury hotel, two branded residential communities, an internationally branded beach club, and retail, leisure and wellness components.
What this means for a buyer
This is a statement of intent, not a building permit and not the start of sales. In Sharm, an announcement of this size and the first delivered buildings are usually years apart, and the composition of a scheme changes on the way. Until the developer publishes a schedule and prices, the one thing that certainly follows from this news is that the land between the airport and the conference district is no longer an empty spot on the map — worth knowing if you are looking nearby.
The First Group and Pulse Developments announce three hospitality schemes in Sharm
More than 3,200 hotel units and over $670m of investment, of which more than $500m goes to the third and largest scheme.
Sharm is second in Africa's hotel development pipeline
Nine hotel schemes, seven of them Accor's; nearly all the announced rooms are luxury and upper-upscale, and most are due to open by the end of 2027.
Egypt's inbound tourism rose 15.6 per cent in the first quarter
The figure was given by the tourism minister; it is growth against the same quarter a year earlier.
